Our organization is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful workplace and training environment for everyone. This policy establishes clear expectations for behaviour and outlines our zero-tolerance stance toward harassment, discrimination, bullying, and violence.
We are dedicated to fostering a space where all individuals feel safe, valued, and respected.
Scope
This policy applies to all individuals who interact with our organization, including:
- Employees (full-time, part-time, casual, and temporary)
- Contractors, facilitators, instructors, consultants, and volunteers
- Learners, participants, clients, and attendees of our training services
- Visitors to our physical or virtual training spaces
This policy applies to all work-related activities, including training sessions, meetings, events, communications (verbal, written, or electronic), and any interaction connected to our organization.
Legislative Framework
This policy is guided by and complies with:
- The Saskatchewan Employment Act
- The Saskatchewan Human Rights Code
- The Canadian Human Rights Act
- The Criminal Code of Canada
- Applicable occupational health and safety legislation
Where provincial and federal standards differ, the higher standard of protection will apply.
Safe Space Commitment
Our workplace and training environments are safe spaces. This means:
- Everyone has the right to participate without fear of harm, harassment, discrimination, or intimidation
- Diversity of identity, background, experience, and perspective is respected and valued
- Harmful or disruptive behaviour will be addressed promptly and appropriately
Creating and maintaining a safe space is a shared responsibility.
Zero-Tolerance Policy
We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to:
- Harassment
- Discrimination
- Bullying
- Sexual harassment
- Violence or threats of violence
- Retaliation
Where appropriate, one clear warning may be issued to allow an individual the opportunity to correct their behaviour on extremely minor offences. The warning will clearly outline the behaviour of concern and the expectations moving forward.
Severe misconduct, ongoing behaviour, or any behaviour that poses a risk to the safety, dignity, or well-being of others will result in immediate action without warning, up to and including termination of employment, contracts, or participation in training services.
Expected Standards of Conduct
- Treat others with dignity, respect, and professionalism
- Communicate in a respectful, inclusive, and constructive manner
- Respect personal boundaries and differences
- Contribute to a positive and safe learning or working environment
- Follow all organizational policies and lawful instructions
- Correct behaviour promptly if concerns are raised
Prohibited Behaviour
The following behaviours are strictly prohibited:
Harassment
Unwelcome conduct, comments, gestures, or actions that demean, intimidate, humiliate, or offend an individual.
Discrimination
Unfair treatment based on protected grounds including, but not limited to: race, ancestry, colour, place of origin, religion or creed, gender identity, gender expression, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, marital or family status, or any other protected characteristic under applicable law.
Bullying
Repeated or severe behaviour that creates a hostile, intimidating, or offensive environment, including abuse of authority.

Violence or Threats
Retaliation
Roles and Responsibilities
Organization
The Organization will:
- Provide and maintain a respectful and safe workplace and training environment
- Communicate this policy clearly and consistently
- Take all complaints seriously and respond promptly
- Conduct fair, impartial, and confidential investigations
- Take appropriate corrective or disciplinary action when violations occur
Employees and Contractors
Employees and Contractors will:
- Comply with this policy at all times
- Model respectful behaviour
- Report concerns in good faith
- Cooperate fully in investigations
Visitors and Attendees
Visitors and Attendees will:
- Conduct themselves respectfully in all organizational spaces
- Follow instructions from staff and facilitators
- Understand that failure to comply may result in removal from the training space or termination of services
Reporting Concerns
Anyone who experiences or witnesses conduct that violates this policy is encouraged to report it as soon as possible.
In person reports may be made to:
- An instructor or the training coordinator
- Another trusted representative of the organization
Online reports may be made to:

Reports will be handled confidentially and respectfully, to the extent possible.
Investigation and Corrective Action
Retaliation against any individual who raises a concern or participates in an investigation is strictly prohibited and will result in disciplinary action.
Policy Review
This policy will be reviewed regularly to ensure compliance with Saskatchewan and Canadian legislation and to reflect best practices.
